I have to remember to set appointments for later in the afternoon. My chemistry lab took a little long today, because we burned part of the second experiment so my lab partner and I didn't leave class until noon. By the time I got home and fed Genevieve, it was time to get ready to go to her 1:30 p.m. appointment. I didn't have time to fix him lunch/dinner so poor Mike had to go to work with no lunch or dinner, so hopefully he was able to get something good on the way.
Genevieve is growing good. She was 26 inches long and 14 pounds 12.8 ounces. We are still EBFing with no formula whatsoever, although she does get a bottle at least 1 day a week while I am in class. Her pediatrician cleared her for cereal, which is good because she has had 1-2 Tbsp a day since Saturday. She loves cereal and eats more than she gets on her face, so we'll probably start adding some jarred and homemade fruits and veggies in a month or so if she keeps doing this good. She fussed when she got her shots, but was cooing before the nurse even left the room. Genevieve treated the oral vaccine like a bottle of milk.....she guzzled it right down. =)
Dianna is doing good too. She had her 2 year appointment not that long ago. She was 36.22 inches tall and weighed 27 pounds. I guess we have a little giant on our hands. Dianna took her 2 shots like a trooper and didn't cry or try to squirm away from the nurse. I was only holding her hand, because she was sitting on one of those little kid sized little tikes chair. Dianna did however freak out when the lab tech collected blood from her finger tip to check her blood levels. I guess she doesn't like the sight of blood. She had loads of fun at her Birthday party, but didn't seem to enjoy the cake as much as she did last year. We are going to start trying to potty train her soon, but I think the best time to start would be when school gets out so I can concentrate on training her more.
Mike is doing good. We got enough back with our tax refund to pay off the washer and dryer, the taxes he ended up owing from last year, and the retroactive child support for his 6 year old daughter Skyla. In doing that, we are saving almost $200 a month, so Mike was able to cut his hours at the part time job. This way, the weekends we have Hailyn he doesn't have to work Saturdays and gets to spend all day with us. =) He has been keeping an eye on the girls while I go to class in the mornings, and hasn't gone nuts yet.
I started going back to class last fall to start working on my BA in psychology. It was a tough yet easy semester, and I was able to take my history final on time after having Genevieve only a couple of days before. It has been tougher this semester with breast feeding Genevieve and only having one online class. 13 credit hours was probably a bit much, so I will probably only take 2 or 3 classes in the fall. Chemistry has been the hardest so far, most of that due to not being able to concentrate during class because of rude classmates coming in very late and talking alot during class. My history teacher missed almost the whole first 3 months of class due to some health issues, but the whole class is happy to have him back.
One thing I'll be posting is interesting articles from blogs I follow. I'll also be posting some recipes that we like. Links to our online pictures and videos will be added soon too.
Have a good night/day and check back later.
